Established in 1987, the Financial Service Centers of America (FiSCA), is the professional
organization representing the ever-expanding growth industry of check cashing and short-term
consumer loans which provide financial services for America's local communities. FiSCA, with
a membership of more than 6,000 neighborhood financial service centers in more than 35
states, is the industry's leading voice on legislative, regulatory and business issues.

The California Financial Service Providers Association represents
the payday advance industry
in California. In 1999, the association renamed itself the California
Financial Service Providers,
as the organization represents the interests of companies that provide
several different financial
services, including payday advances and check cashing. The organization
was formerly known
as the California Check Cashers Association, founded on November
29, 1950. CFSP works with
state legislators and local officials to promote regulations that
protect the rights of both
consumers and businesses. The Association also educates its members
on fair practices in
conducting payday advance services.
